Summary of the Research Paper
This research addresses the challenge of teaching production systems and Lean tools in construction education. Recognizing the difficulty of replicating real-world industry scenarios in the classroom, the study proposes a pedagogical game using paper planes to enhance the teaching process. Focused on Lean tools like Continuous Improvement Cells and 5S, the game underwent development and improvement through the Design Science Research (DSR) method. Comprising three rounds, the game involves designing a production system, implementing Continuous Improvement Cells, and applying 5S principles. The theoretical and practical contribution lies in providing a pedagogical tool for teaching construction production systems based on Lean tools, with positive impacts observed in students’ knowledge assimilation and performance indicators during application to undergraduate and graduate students.
